Greenery

Greenery

This month’s photo shoot was inspired by two things, my love for Spring and Pantone’s Color of the Year. I am not usually one to wear green but with celebrating Spring, oh and St. Patrick's Day this month I had to showcase the color green in my wardrobe.

I absolutely love Spring season. I get all the feels around this time despite the hour loss in sleep. That added sunlight definitely puts some pep back into my step! The grass begins to green, the trees and flowers begin to bloom, and here is a fun fact: six years ago on the very first day of Spring Hubs proposed!

In addition to all those wonderful things mentioned, in Fashion Spring pieces bring so many color possibilities to our wardrobe. Currently, Spring trends consist of stripes, yellow fabrics, shades of blue, neons and brights, and ruffles just to name a few. That is so many Spring wardrobe inspirations, right? Side note, speaking of inspiration... you may or may not know this about me but in addition to image consulting, I dabble a little in interior design. Because of that, my fashion sense can often be influenced or motivated by a variety of design elements. From furniture textiles, architectural elements and here recently a paint color.

This year Pantone's Color of the year is Greenery. According to Pantone, “Greenery is a refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew." To learn more, check out Pantone's Website, and also see how I gained inspiration for this shoot on my Pinterest Catalog.

The featured pieces in this look are the fabolous sleeveless high-low shirt and my nude patent leather wedges. I love the graffiti like green and mustard print on this shirt. It is very daring! I usually like to go for those type of pieces since I others may shy away from such a statement. I also like it because of the clean white collar that stands out keeping everything looking 'polished'. Below you can see, I paired the shirt with one of my favorite wide leg blue jean trousers. These trousers are a year round staple. They can pretty much go with anything. I paired this look with my nude patent leather wedges, which would not only give my 5'2" frame some height but also because of their neutral color. They stay behind the scenes to let the rest of this look shine. Lastly, due to my love for color, I added a bold red-orange lip, matching polish to my nails, and my 'Love, Faith, Hope' orange beaded bracelets to give this outfit a splash of contrast.
